Description of post;

Vacancy for 4 month full-time maternity cover from August 2008 until January 2009, with the prospect of continuing to permenant part-time job share.

Essential skills we require of the applicant;

This position would suit a person with a keen interest in current fashion changes of bridal and prom wear. The candidate will be required to know and understand the basics of the cut and style of a particular dress.
Candidates should be proficient with use of a computer and the ‘Windows’ operating system. They should possess a good command of the English language as they will be required to answer emails and telephone enquiries as well as talking with our customers directly.

As part of a small team, stock taking is essential to smooth running of the business and the candidate will need to assist with periodical stock taking.
Due to the nature of the business, much tact and discretion is required along with general politeness of manner.

Preferences we have for applicants;

Ability to sew and perform alterations (currently provided on the premises)
Good telephone and sales manner
Previous retail background
Fluency in a second language, in particular French and/or German (an asset but not essential)
