Ait Software Manager
A Leading Aerospace organisation in Hampshire requires an experienced Software Team Manager to join their expanding team. This organisation has a strong reputation for excellence within its field and ensures its employees receive every possibility to advance their careers.
The software team is responsible for the delivery of the test software used to support and automate the integration and test of all products assembled on site. Main duties will include; Owning the architecture and design of the software solution delivered; Ownership of the software development process and responsible for it's continuous improvement; Driving the software innovation process; Management of an international team of around 25 developers made up of permanent staff members and subcontractors (50-50 split) some of whom are based long term overseas for project support; Software Project portfolio management; Software project planning, release control and rollout; Responsible for projects ranging from a few months to several years; Planning, reporting, cost monitoring, management of requirements changes, management of software change proposals; Actively support roll out of Six Sigma Black Belt initiative, etc.
Applicants must be team players with strong leadership skills and a high level of organisational ability.
Candidates must have experience with Operator orientated software interfaces; Concept and development of object and service orientated architectures; Development, integration, validation, deployment and maintenance of software products; RDBMS's such as SQL server and Oracle; Query languages including TSQL and relational database architecture. Must have experience of Software Configuration Management Tools (ClearCase; SourceSafe; PVCS) and have a strong background in software development processes and methodologies. Six Sigma knowledge is an advantage
Must be an experienced manager and have solid software architecture experience (relational databases and .NET) on projects with multiple stakeholder's. Test Software development and support experience would be desirable. Should have previous experience in the development of applications running on Windows OS, ideally in the context of the .NET framework. It is essential that the successful candidates has a strong software development process knowledge.
Desirable skills would include knowledge of DSP, .NET communication technologies such as web services, Microsoft Visual Studio (C++, C#, VVB, ASP, ASP.NET) and experience with XML, HTML
