Laboratory Manager
Our client is a materials science and engineering company who specialise in Purification and Filtration capabilities. Due to company development and opportunity has now become available for an experienced Laboratory manager to join the company on a permanent basis.
As a Laboratory Manager you will be responsible for the management of the Medical and Microbiology laboratory including 3 direct reports. The role will consist of managerial duties and practical laboratory testing.
Principle duties will include:
- Management of work loads to ensure effective running of the laboratory
- Maintenance of the laboratory equipment & consumable stock levels
- Ensuring all laboratory practices adhere to quality standards and health & safety guidelines.
- Testing of new products to support R&D section
- Analysis and fault finding for customer complaints
- Supervision and management of laboratory staff members
Suitable applicants will have extensive experience working within an industrial laboratory and will have experience with both laboratory and people management. The laboratory experience will ideally be microbiological, biopharmaceutical or from a hospital lab environment. Knowledge of IQ, OQ & PQ documentation as well as instrument calibration and troubleshooting is required.
In addition, applicants will ideally be educated to a minimum of degree level (or equivalent) in a relevant scientific discipline (e.g. microbiology, haematology, biochemistry).
In return, our client offers a full-time permanent opportunity with a salary of c£34,000 per annum.
