SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER is required ASAP!
Senior Software Engineer will be responsible to:

• Develop and implement structured software solutions to meet programme requirements across the whole software development lifecycle in accordance with customer requirements, legislation, human factors and business needs

Qualifications and Experience Required

• HND in software engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or another engineering discipline with at least 8 years relevant experience or degree in software engineering, computer science , mathematics, physics or another engineering discipline with at least 5 years relevant experience
• At least five years Senior Software Engineer experience
• Knowledge of avionics or defence industry including military experience desirable
• Knowledge of current Software Engineering standards and techniques
• Knowledge of SEI CMMI is desirable
• Ability to construct and implement embedded software including detailed design, coding, debugging, unit testing, technical reviews, and performance optimisation.
• Proven experience of programming in C and/or ADA.
• Experience of working within a RTCA/DO-178B level B lifecycle environment.
• Experience of visiting customers on site to negotiate issues
• Ability to lead and manage customers during software design reviews and audits
• Experience of project management techniques.
• Experience of working effectively with customers, suppliers, other engineering disciplines, quality, manufacturing and other company departments
• Experience of formal report writing, making presentations to customers and suppliers and compiling and presenting progress reports
• Experience in leading, managing and developing staff

Other

• Prepared to travel to the USA or Europe not normally more than four times per year and prepared to undertake travel within the UK
• Prepared to work overtime
