Operations Manager
Operations Manager required immediately for a fast growing, dynamic and well established business with multiple sites
Vane recruitment are working in partnership with a client who are looking to recruit an operation manager for their specialist business
As an operations manager you will be responsible for
3 Volumetric Concrete Trucks & Volumetric Operators, and 6 Grab Vehicles & Grab Drivers
Core Working Hours:Between 7.00 am to 6.00 pm Monday to Friday, Saturday as and when required (you will be required to work the hours necessary for the proper performance of your duties and responsibilities)
Salary: Basis plus Bonus: 35K including bonus
Job Purpose
To assist in the growth and development of the Concrete and Grab Divisions of my client which will ultimately result in the expansion and overall growth of the Company as a whole.
Key Tasks
1. Day-to-day routing and scheduling of the volumetric concrete and grab vehicles.
2. Manage the drivers and their work schedules on a daily basis.
3. Review the routing of the vehicle(s) and liaise with the driver(s) on a regular basis to maximise vehicle efficiency and their productivity.
4. Liaise with the customers and deal with any queries they may have in a courteous professional manner.
5. Deal with customer enquiries and raise quotations using the standard quotation template and follow the standard format when sending out quotations.
6. Revenue generation for the Company’s concrete and grab business by maximising the potential for expanding existing business and generating new business opportunities.
7. Develop awareness of the concrete and grab business provided by my client in the local and surrounding areas , cross selling additional services where possible
9. Establish and build upon long term profitable business relationships with key contacts within existing and new business opportunities.
10. Review the Company’s existing concrete and grab customer base.
11. Develop a strategy for the Concrete & Grab Divisions.
12. Examine the Company’s market share.
13. Organise sales campaigns and advertising, as and when necessary.
14. Monitor and increase the number of concrete and grab customers.
15. Ensure concrete and grab customer prospects and client activity is recorded and followed-up as appropriate.
16. Produce concise weekly sales activity reports for the Managing Director to be submitted by Tuesday morning of each week.
17. Liaise and work with the Company’s Directors and senior management team on a regular basis.
18. Liaise with the sales team on a regular basis to ensure excellent communication and enhanced working relationships and forward any sales leads or business opportunities to them.
19. Keep up-to-date with market changes and legislation.
20. Work flexibly and be receptive and adaptable to a changing environment within a fast expanding Company.
To apply you MUST have a sound knowledge of the concrete business, with a commercial and/or technical bias, and have the ability to work in a very busy environment and be able to readily accept and adapt to change. Applications without this will not be accepted by my client
Must have excellent and effective communication and interpersonal skills and possess a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and have good IT and organisational skills.
The position can be based from either our Portsmouth Site or Southampton Depot therefore flexibility is required to travel to the multiple sites
